How much does a player earn? Croatia Women Football 2.
A new global survey by the international players’ union FIFPRO shows that most women’s national team footballers earn far too little to make a living from the sport. About two-thirds of respondents reported annual earnings below $20,000, with nearly half earning under $10,000 and almost a third between $0–$5,000.
Clubs and national teams remain the main income sources, yet roughly one-quarter of players hold additional jobs outside football. Short-term contracts are widespread, with 33 % tied to deals of one year or less and 22 % having no contract at all.
Many players also complain about inadequate rest before and after matches and basic travel conditions during tournaments. FIFPRO warns that continued financial instability could push talent out of the game unless improvements are made.
