My grandmother was excellent

I read the module 3 study material now, and here comes the statistical data:

64%  of the women born before the anti-discrimination era have little to no interest in the sport.

My grandmother was born in 1937. She was the one who first told me kick the ball and play football. I was under 5 years old.

I was born in 1985.

My grandmother was also the first to teach me basic gymnastics when I was like 3 years old.

She always encouraged me to watch the sports events on TV, and she loved to talk about the Hungarian sportspeople with pride. She was always happy when someone won in sports.

So for me, when someone behaves neutrally regarding any sports, then it feels like a wall that I do not fully understand how it happened to them.

In another part, I can read in the study material that female athletes have been stereotyped and overly sexualised, with little focus on their athletic identities...

For me, it is very difficult to see this way, as Hungarian female athletes are always medal winners, so for the Hungarian fan, it is normal to see a competition and know that there will be a gold, a silver or a bronze...
